Age: Must be at least 18 years of age. (No upper age limits.)
Application: Must complete an application form and pay dues to Membership Chairperson. Dues are for the fiscal year July 1 through June 30 and are not pro-rated.
The essential functions of the Volunteer position, no matter the assignment are as follows:
- Be able to stand for up to two hours with or without breaks.
- Be able to walk including using the stairs.
- Be able to follow and comply with directions.
- Be able to assist patrons in an emergency evacuation of the building.
- Possess the ability to comprehend the essential functions of the assigned position.
New members must attend New Orientation before being called to volunteer. General Orientation is done annually in conjunction with the Fall Kick-Off and must be completed prior to volunteering for the new season. The schedule can be found on this website.
Volunteer Dress Code
Women must wear black skirts or slacks, black shoes, and a white blouse. Men must wear black slacks, black socks and shoes, a white dress shirt, and a black or dark (conservative) necktie. Morrison Center Volunteer jackets and vests must be worn by USHERS, GIFT SHOP, and HEARING ASSISTANCE VOLUNTEERS.
All Volunteers must arrive and be ready to work 30 minutes prior to the lobby doors opening, except as otherwise instructed. Lobby doors open 90 – 60 minutes prior to showtime, depending on the show.
Volunteers are issued a Parking Pass to be used only when you are working as a Volunteer for Morrison Center events. You must place your Parking Pass on your driver’s side windshield to be visible to the Parking staff. They will direct you to park in the designated area in the lot right behind the Morrison Center, or if this lot is full, you may park in the West Reserve surface lots or on the 3rd or 4th floor of the Brady Garage. You must always use your Parking Pass when working at the Morrison Center and only park in the approved areas. You may be liable for a parking fine from the BSU Parking Services if you do not.
