The Theatre Arts Program presents a reading of selections from Bertolt Brecht’s masterpiece, “The Life of Galileo.” The play follows the career of the great Italian natural philosopher Galileo Galilei during the Galileo affair, in which he was prosecuted for heresy by the Roman Catholic Church for daring to challenge their model of the galaxy. Exploring the relationship between science and political authority, and the question of how to stand up for the truth under oppression, the play brings one of our greatest scientific minds to life.
